The backend role is about building dependable systems behind event setup, attendee activity, permissions, notifications, integrations, payments, and organizer reporting.
What you will do
- Build Laravel and Node.js services that support event workflows and integrations.
- Design reliable APIs, queues, notifications, permissions, imports, exports, and data models.
- Improve observability, tests, performance, and operational resilience.
- Work with product, frontend, and support feedback to simplify complex event operations.
What success looks like
- The platform stays predictable when events are busy and workflows overlap.
- Data models, permissions, and background jobs are easy for the team to reason about.
- Support patterns turn into cleaner systems, not only one-off fixes.
You may be a good fit if
- You have shipped production backend systems with Laravel, Node.js, or similar stacks.
- You care about data integrity, permissions, and background jobs.
- You can choose boring, dependable solutions when the product needs them.
How we work in this role
- We use AI to draft implementations, tests, migrations, and edge-case checklists, then review everything with security and reliability in mind.
- Readable systems beat clever systems when a live event needs a quick diagnosis.
- Backend choices should make the product calmer for organizers and easier for teammates to maintain.
